Malvern care home residents come together to help children in Ukraine this Christmas

RESIDENTS at a Malvern care home have been busy over the last few months knitting blankets for Christmas for children in Ukraine.

Residents and staff from  Elgar Court Care Home joined members from the community Monday Craft Group.

The group were saddened by the plight of these children, wanted to help and give a meaningful gift of their love and support whilst also providing essential winter warmth to help them during this conflict in and knitted over 267 blanket squares.

Maddie Jones who led this initiative with residents, staff and the club said: “Children are especially dear to all our hearts and we hope to continue to support the charity Operation Orphan in future years”.

Sarah Cadwallader, senior general manager at the home said: “Residents and staff taking part in Operation Orphan wanted to show how much they care, and everyone at the home has been behind us all the way.

“It’s for such an important cause and we are very glad to be able to do our bit to raise both awareness and support these children in need.”
