Malvern charity receives cash boost from town's Nationwide branch

A MALVERN building society has donated £400 to a small town charity which supports families who have children with disabilities.

Nationwide’s Great Malvern branch gave the donation to Malvern Special Families to help enable them to keep up its vital work.

Jane Sleep, branch manager at Nationwide, said: “We are delighted to be able to support local charity Malvern Special Families as it provides such a great service for children and young people with special needs.”

This year MSF is celebrating its 30th anniversary of supporting families across Malvern and Worcester.

It was set up in the 1980s in Malvern and has now grown to support more than 175 families, providing clubs and play schemes for children and young people with disabilities aged between five and 19 in ‘out of school’ hours.

MSF community fund-raiser Cassie Zoro said: “It is brilliant to receive such a kind donation and goodwill gesture from a big building society like Nationwide.

“It’s such a good feeling when a large organisation recognises our small charity and we can help support our families further.

“This is a timely donation as we are keen to partner up with local businesses so that we can expand our services to meet the needs of local families.”
