THE MALVERN Chase Brass Band has presented Worcester Cancer Aid with a cheque for more than £1,000.
All the proceeds, which amounted to £1,250, from the carol singing in December last year were handed over by trombone player Nathan King to Brenda Till from the cancer aid.
Brenda explained how the money would be spent helping families cope with unexpected financial burdens which arise when confronted with serious illness.
She said: “We have been assisting individuals and families with the cost of transport to and from appointments including the costs of car parking which can be quite substantial.
“We contribute towards the cost of last holidays, especially for families with younger children and we feel it is good to make some positive memories for these families.”
The band also thanked the people of Malvern for their donations.
