A REFLECTIVE and thoughtful concert of Remembrance was held in Malvern last weekend – continuing a century old tradition for Malvern Male Voice Choir.

The choir’s annual Remembrance Sunday concert was performed by around 30 members of the group to a full capacity audience at the Church of the Ascension, Somers Park Avenue, Malvern.

The occasion was titled ‘The Glow of Dawn’, taken from the timeless classic ‘Portrait of My Love’ and featured a powerful range of songs, readings, poems and hymns all linked to themes of conflict and peace.

‘Anthem’ from Chess the Musical, Simon & Garfunkel’s classic ‘Sound Of Silence’, and You’ll Never Walk Alone were all performed live.

A commemorative film in memory of the choir’s family members who served was also screened during the concert.

The evening concluded with an Act of Remembrance for those who have fought or are currently fighting in conflict.

Following the performance, there was a retiring collection for the Royal British Legion, the Parish of Malvern Link with Cowleigh and Malvern Male Voice Choir.

A spokesman for the Choir said: “ Now more than ever , Remembrance Sunday continues to be an important time to reflect on all conflicts both past and present.”
