Malvern father left 'distraught' after family home ransacked

Malvern Editorial 21st Nov, 2023   0

A MALVERN dad has been left ‘distraught’ after arriving home from a trip to London with his children to find his home ransacked and his van stolen.

Jason Lawrence and his two children arrived at his home on Queen Elizabeth Road, Malvern around 2am on the morning of November 18 to find the front door smashed in, the house turned upside down and the van missing off the drive.

He rang 999 immediately and has been working with police since. His van, which he relies on for his painting and decorating company, has been recovered and is being forensically examined.

Neighbours have provided CCTV to help with the investigation.

Jason told the Observer:”This house has memories of fun, love, laughter but now it’s an end of an era.”

He added: “My kids are inconsolable and this will affect them for some considerable time. I’m a single dad and have my kids on the weekends and school holidays.

“My daughter especially doesn’t want to come anymore. She’s petrified as I am to be fair. My son is very upset, but handling it better.”

The father of two is now appealing for information to help police with the investigation.

Hundreds of people have shared their support for Jason on social media, with two donation pages being set up by friends and neighbours to help him with his financial costs as a result of the damage to his home and van.

At the time of writing, across the two fundraisers, a total of £355 has been raised towards the goal of £1000.
