FIFTEEN members of Malvern’s French Twinning Association enjoyed a week packed with mountain rambles and mouth-watering cuisine on their recent trip to twin town Bagneres-de-Bigorre.
A highlight from the trip was the group’s visit by cable car to Le Pic Du Midi.
The programme, organised by Maite Barrere of the Bagneres Twinning Association, celebrated the growing friendship between the two towns which have much in common.
Both are spa towns and both are situated in areas of natural beauty.
Group secretary Cathy Miller said: “An afternoon spent indulging in the therapeutic waters of the Aquensis Spa proved to be a perfect way to wind down after the local sightseeing.
“A gala dinner held at the town’s casino featured delicious specialties and afforded opportunities for friendships to be renewed.
“Future plans, including a visit in 2018 by students of the town’s secondary school, were also cemented.”
Malvern’s French Twinning is supported by a growing band of enthusiasts and is open to all.
