Malvern gets ready for Christmas Lights switch-on

THE SEASON of festive cheer is soon to arrive in Malvern as the town gears up for its Christmas Lights switch on.

Malvern Town Council has organised a day of festive fun on November 23 with live performances, circus themed workshops, fairground rides, stalls, local craft and food traders and more.

The town will be bustling from 10am to 6pm.

Live stage performances will take place in the Priory Church Grounds accompanied by the BBC Hereford and Worcester stage on Belle Vue Island and the crossroad stage area at the bottom of Church Street.

Mark at Solo Circus will be hosting the themed circus workshops.

And attendees can also visit Santa and his elves in the grotto at Great Malvern Library (£3.50 entry – proceeds go to the Mayor’s charity, Cube Youth).




The team from The School of Larks will join in the festive fun at The Coach House Theatre bringing live circus performances and workshops for 2 timed performances at 1pm & 2:45pm.

These performances & workshops have limited spaces and booking essential at £5 per family with up to 2 adults and 3 children included.


Later in the day, the town’s Christmas lights will be turned on at 5:30pm with guest appearances from Mark James and Phillip Arran following the annual Christmas parade at 5:15pm starting at the bottom of Church Street.

Marilyn Birks, town mayor said: “I can’t wait to welcome the people of Malvern to a day of festive fun.

“There will be something for everyone to enjoy on 23 November. I Look forward to seeing you all there.”
