Malvern Hills District Council proud to fly the flag on Commonwealth Day 2021

MALVERN Hills District Council was one of more than 1,000 organisations around the World to fly the flag for Commonwealth Day 2021.

The day is held on the second Monday of March each year for individuals, communities and organisations to promote the values that the Commonwealth stands for.

The Commonwealth, which has 54 member countries, champions values of peace, democracy and equality and this year’s theme – the same as last year’s – was ‘Delivering a Common Future: Connecting, Innovating, Transforming’.

This theme highlights how the member countries in the Commonwealth family are ‘innovating, connecting and transforming’ to help achieve some of its biggest goals, like fighting climate change, promoting good governance and boosting trade.

Coun Dean Clarke, Chairman of Malvern Hills District Council, said: “By flying the flag above the Council House, we are representing the strong bond and connection that the Malvern Hills district has with communities across the Commonwealth”.
