A MALVERN man has been banned from drinking in public and entering Barnards Green at night time for three years after he was issued with a Criminal Behaviour Order.

Eric Fairhurst, 61, of Orchard Court, was handed the order at Redditch Magistrates Court on Thursday after he was convicted of being drunk and disorderly at a public place.

The three-year-order bans him from behaving in a manner which causes or is likely to cause alarm, harassment or distress by using foul and abusive language and/or behaving in a manner which intimidates others.

It also bans Fairhurst from drinking alcohol in any public place except for premises licensed for the consumption of alcohol, contacting emergency services save for a genuine emergency and entering a defined area of Barnard’s Green between 7pm and 6am.

Police said in a statement if he does not abide by the conditions of the order he will then be arrested.
