A MAN from Malvern has been charged with two shoplifting offences today (Friday, September 12).
Paul Standen, 56, of Elgar Avenue, Malvern will appear at Worcester Magistrates Court on September 26 on both counts.
Standen’s charges relate to instances where items were stolen from Lidl in Malvern Link and Co-op on Upper Howsell Road in Malvern. He has been bailed with conditions not go to either of those stores.
The suspect was arrested at his address in Elgar Avenue, when West Mercia Police officers PC Matt Waite, PC Todd Gummery and PC Paul Slaymaker visited the property.
Whilst making the arrest, officers also located another man in the address who was wanted for a recall to prison. The man gave false details but was well known to officers.
That man, whose details have not been shared, was also arrested and taken to custody, where he awaits secure transport to prison.
