A MALVERN man is one of three jailed after pleading guilty to let his property be used for class A drug-dealing.

Anthony Clarke, 58, of Elmley Close, Malvern admitted permitting the use of premises for the supply heroin and crack cocaine on October 9 and was jailed for nine months. The hearing took place at Worcester Crown Court.

Mohammed Dildar, 27, of Ash Road, Birmingham was sentenced to six years for being concerned in the supply of heroin and crack cocaine between July 11 and October 9.

Samad Ali. 25, of Arthur Street, Birmingham was jailed for three years for being concerned in the supply of heroin and crack cocaine between the same dates and also for possession with intent to supply heroin and crack cocaine on October 9.

In August 2023, officers from the Proactive County Lines Team became aware of the activity and launched Operation Lathe to identify and arrest those involved.

The people involved targeted vulnerable drug users to gain access to their addresses. They would take over the properties through fear and threats of violence, a practice known as cuckooing. Through extensive investigative work, the people involved were identified as Mohammed Dildar (running the line) and Samad Ali (manager/street dealer). An operation to affect their arrest was instigated and search warrants were gained for two addresses in Birmingham and a third for an address in Kinver linked to Dildar.

On Monday, October 9, the three warrants were simultaneously executed with in excess of 30 officers from different departments.

In addition to this, a fourth address was identified in Elmley Close, Malvern where one of the suspects (Ali) was believed to be basing himself.

Dildar was arrested at the Kinver address and key evidence linking him to the drug line was recovered.

Ali was arrested from the Elmley Close address in Malvern and key evidence recovered including a large quantity of cash, multiple mobile phones, and a knife.

Once taken to custody Ali was found to have a large amount of heroin and crack cocaine was recovered from within his underwear.

The seized class A drugs had an approximate street value of £900.
