MALVERN Mayor Julian Roskams is the latest to take part in the charity phenomenon which is the Ice Bucket Challenge.

He was nominated by PC Dave Wise and PCSO Steve Freeman on behalf of @MalvernCops on Twitter, who braved the task themselves as water hoisted 30 foot in the sky by a tractor was poured on them.

They also selected Dave Throup from the Environment Agency and Malvern firefighters from Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service (HWFRS) to step up next.

Mayor Roskams, who is also the leader of the Democratic group on the district council, sported a Green Party t-shirt while pouring a bucket on his own head.

He selected Macmillan Cancer Support as his chosen charity and then nominated Tory trio district coun Hannah Campbell along with David Hughes and Paul Swinburn, the leader and deputy leader of the council.

Coun Campbell confirmed she would be taking the challenge today (Wednesday).

The Ice Bucket Challenge which has swept the globe involving a whole host of celebrities was launched to raise money to fight

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a disease which affects the nervous system, but many taking part have chosen to donate to different charities.
