OFFICERS are investigating the dangerous and damaging use of electric motorbikes and scramblers on the Malvern Hills following further incidents.
Reports have been sent into police regarding riders travelling at speeds in excess of 40 miles per hour, destroying the land and racing past walkers and cyclists.
West Mercia Police’s Pickersleigh and Chase Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) will now be patrolling the hills, whenever possible around the times of previous reports, to identify the offenders.
Officers will be armed with smart-water spray, a clear water-based liquid containing a unique forensic code that can be linked to the offender later on if they cannot be caught at the scene.
Pickersleigh and Chase Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) are urging residents to call 101 if further incidents are seen.
If offenders are riding dangerously and endangering other users of the hills then residents are asked to call 999.
