Malvern Police stepping up patrols to clampdown on irresponsible parking at district's schools

Malvern Editorial 29th Mar, 2023   0

MALVERN’s Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) have issued advice following a wave of parking complaints at Kempsey Primary School.

The complaints are related to parents dropping off and collecting their children from the school, with the most common complaints concerning blocked driveways.

Parents are advised to walk where necessary, allow time to find a parking space, be prepared to walk a short distance to school and always let their child out of the door nearest the kerbside.

Officers also advise parents not to drop children off on zig-zag yellow lines, avoid blocking residents driveways, be aware of not double parking and blocking pavements and to avoid parking on or opposite junctions.

The Safer Neighbourhood Team will be patrolling the area at relevant times and say they will deal with persistent offenders.

Anyone who witnesses illegal or dangerous parking is being asked to visit click here to submit video or photographic evidence.

The advice applies to parking outside all schools in Malvern Hills District.
