Malvern Police working with retailers to clampdown on shoplifters

Malvern Editorial 19th Mar, 2023 Updated: 19th Mar, 2023   0

MALVERN Police have issued a warning to shoplifters across the district.

Officers have been linking up with retailers to identify and prosecute those who steal items from shops.

The Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) has spoken to shop owners in Pickersleigh and Chase, Priory and Wells, Barnards Green, Malvern Link and Great Malvern.

They have also put up signs in the area to warn prolific thieves about the clampdown.

And SmartWater is being used to protect property. The high-tech liquid has a unique DNA-style code which is individual to each bottle.  As well as reuniting owners with stolen property, it can also help convict culprits if SmartWater is found on them as it places them at the scene of the crime.

People are urged to report thefts and thieves by calling 101 or 999 if the crime is in progress.

Alternatively, report it online at westmercia.police.uk/report
