MALVERN Pride will be returning to Priory Park on Saturday, July 30 after a successful first event in 2019.
Committee members have been unable to put on a Pride event in Malvern for the past two years due to the pandemic, but it’s estimated the 2019 edition attracted more than 800 people of all ages.
The event will run from midday until 6pm and will feature plenty of family-friendly entertainment alongside stalls and lots of food.
There will also be a range of children’s activities including arts and crafts.
Organisers have been working with local businesses, artists and groups and have been supported by Malvern Town Council, Malvern Hills District Council and Worcestershire County Council.
Sean, a spokesperson from Malvern Pride said: “Not only will Malvern Pride resend the important message of acceptance and inclusion to the local LGBT+ community, but it will also help to bring visitors from outside Malvern.
“In 2019 there were so many former Malvern residents who came to see their old hometown celebrate its diversity, that would have been unimaginable when they were growing up here in the recent past.
“It did the town great credit and made us very proud of the place we live and work in.”
