MORE than £1000 was raised at a Malvern district primary school’s first ever paint run.

The school’s fun paint run event took place on Wednesday July 17 Hanley Swan Primary School.

The event, organised by the school’s Parent and Friends Association (PFA), raised vital funds to go towards equipment and resources to help enhance the children’s education experience and school facilities.

Over 100 pupils and parents took part in the sponsored event, which started with a warm-up by Freedom Leisure staff, from The Hill Community Centre in Upton.

Participants then walked, jogged and ran their way around the school grounds, passing through coloured paint stations, getting covered head to toe in bright powdered paint.

On crossing the finish line everyone received a medal.

Since September 2023, just over £6000 has been raised for the school altogether, through various PFA events and activities.

Adrian Pratley, Headteacher of Hanley Swan Primary School said: “We are really pleased with the success of our first paint run, thank you to everyone who took part and raised sponsorship money.

“We have had a successful year of fundraising, and I’d like to thank the PFA team for all their work, it really has made a big difference.

“We look forward to more events and achievements next term.”
