MALVERN Priory Bowling Club is offering free taster sessions in a bid to boost numbers.
The club celebrated its 80th anniversary last year and hosted an open day on Sunday to attract new members.
This was the first of five Bowls4Fun sessions which will run until mid-June.
There are sessions on Wednesday at 2.15pm and on Thursday at 6pm before Bowls4Fun concludes with sessions on June 8 at 2.15pm and June 14 at 6pm.
Free membership is on offer for those in their first season of playing at the club.
Jacqueline Oakley, fund-raising and social secretary of the club, said: “We are aware there are many people living within in the area who could benefit from playing bowls but may lack the confidence to come along to try.
“Malvern Priory Bowling Club is a very friendly club.
“It has had its ups and downs over the past years but has made huge efforts over the past couple of years to improve the clubhouse and promote membership.
“Back in 2016 we could just about muster 21 members, now we have 55 with the prospect of more joining.
“We have a busy and varied social programme with the aim of raising funds to further improve the facilities we have.”
