Malvern Rotary Club launches this year's Tree of Light appeal

Malvern Editorial 2nd Nov, 2018   0

MALVERN Rotary Club is running its Tree of Light Appeal once again so families can remember loved ones whilst raising funds for worthy causes.

To date, more than £140,000 has been raised for charities who have benefitted from the annual distributions.

This year, the major recipients will be St Richard’s Hospice for its Build 2020 project and Age UK Malvern for its Befriending Scheme.

Members of the rotary club will be erecting the lights in Priory Park on November 29 ready for the big switch-on in the park behind Malvern Theatres on December 3.

The ceremony will start at 6pm with Christmas carols being played by the Chase Brass Band.

Mayor Coun Cynthia Palmer will switch on the lights.

The lights will be lit every evening until January 5, 2019.

A list of donors and lives remembered, updated regularly, together with the names of the club’s business sponsors will be displayed on a television screen in the central foyer of Malvern Theatres.

Anyone who wishes to remember a loved one by sponsoring a light should email [email protected] for an application form.
