PLAYERS at Malvern’s Rugby Club will be stepping foot on a field fit for a king after its latest pitch art celebrated King Charles’ coronation with a large painted Union Flag.

Malvern-based pitch marking specialists, Fleet Line Markers created their latest artwork for Malvern Rugby Club to mark the coronation celebrations on Saturday.

The artwork features a circular Union Flag, which is almost 60 metres in diameter, a 25m tall crown, the royal cypher, the date of the coronation and the words ‘King Charles III Coronation 2023’.

The painting was completed by Iain, Chris, Simon, Ali and Frank from the Fleet Line Markers team.

Fleet Line Markers and Malvern Rugby Club’s King Charles coronation artwork is just one of many beautiful large scale paintings created through collaborations between the two organisations.

In the past, thanks to Fleet Line Markers, the club’s pitch has sported a VE Day painting, a giant poppy for Remembrance Sunday, a Comic Relief Red Nose Day painting which covered the entire pitch and helped raise over £4,000 for the charity and most recently, a painting to mark the late Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee.

A Fleet Line Markers spokesperson said: “It has to be said it looks absolutely incredible.

“The crown had to be the most challenging part but once the drone was in the air, everything looked spot on.

“Thanks to Malvern Rugby Club for the use of their ‘canvas’.”
