A TRUSTEE of Malvern Special Families (MSF) is taking part in the Zwolle Half Marathon in June to help raise awareness of the charity which supports families who have children with disabilities.
Judy Gudgeon is limbering up ahead of the event which takes place in the Netherlands on June 9 where she hopes to raise £500.
The popular half marathon attracts about 8,500 athletes who will run more than 21kms around the historic town of Zwolle.
“I have seen first-hand what brilliant work MSF does and I wanted to do something big for this wonderful small charity,” said Judy.
“So I came up with an idea of running a half marathon abroad to help raise the charity’s profile internationally.”
Cassie Zoro, community fund-raiser at MSF, added: “Judy is a fantastic volunteer and fund-raiser for Malvern Special Families.
“She devotes a lot of her time to the charity as a voluntary trustee and now as a community fund-raiser too.
“She has been training hard for the event and preparing herself for the predicted hot weather by running in and around Malvern during the latest heatwave.
“Judy is a lovely person and a brilliant asset to our small charity.
