A MALVERN based university student has won an Academic Scholarship Award for achieving the highest grades in their field of study, writes Sonny Rackham.
Jean Bliss, 22 was granted a £1,000 scholarship from University of Worcester (UOW) for her work in creative writing and English language.
Former Chase School in Malvern student Jean said: “I’m so pleased to have achieved this.
“It’s great that the University takes the time to recognise the work of their students.
“I’m going to put the scholarship towards pursuing my dream of moving abroad after graduation, where I hope to use the language teaching qualification which is a part of my degree.”
Dr Tim Jones, Pro Vice Chancellor (Students), UOW, said: “We are very proud of all our students who earned an Academic Scholarship or prize this year. Their dedication and commitment shines through.
“The scholarships and prizes are supported by generous philanthropists, including the University’s distinguished Honorary Fellows, local employers, and many successful graduates of the University.
“We are very grateful to all our benefactors, whose generosity makes such a difference to our students.”
