Malvern tech firm staff help paint Maggs Daycentre

Malvern Editorial 7th Oct, 2023   0

EMPLOYEES from a Malvern tech firm have volunteered their services to paint the area that Worcester homeless charity Maggs Daycentre uses for its Clothing Project.

Based at the Tything, Maggs’ Clothing Project provides sleeping bags, roll mats and bedding for those rough sleeping or who have secured accommodation and are in need of basic utensils.

The business reached out to and agreed to help renovate the Clothing Project as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility Policy.

Natalie Slater, Malvern Panalytical’s project manager, said “We chose Maggs because of the direct impact it has within the communities of the Worcestershire area.

Margarita White, a homeless transition worker, added: “The Malvern Panalytical team were amazing from their initial contact with us.

“They helped us select a colour, purchased the materials, and came along full of smiles and enthusiasm.

“They did a professional job and were a joy to have around.”

The team’s volunteering will make a big difference, as the clothing project, solely run on donations, provides a warm welcoming space for all.

The project, solely run on donations and heavily supported by volunteers, aims to give those who use it a ‘shopping experience’.

From having very little, Maggs gives them a lot to choose from.

Maggs hosts two day centres in Worcester and Malvern, alongside four properties which temporarily houses rough sleepers.

And the charity has a number of specialist teams which work with service users, including an outreach team, an intensive support team for complex needs and a harm reduction team.

The charity heavily relies on the support of support workers, service users and volunteers to maintain its high service levels.
