THE OWNERS of Malvern World Travel have launched an ‘Ask Us’ campaign to tackle travellers’ Covid-19 fears and rebuild customer confidence in the industry.
Lee and Hilary Harrison who run the business in Somers Park Avenue are part of the campaign created by The Travel Network Group, of which Malvern World Travel is a member.
It was started in response to customer research which found people were concerned about safety and wellness overseas and, combined with confusion over refunds and guarantees, were being deterred people from booking holidays.
The ‘Ask Us’ campaign encourages customers to speak to us at Malvern World Travel directly about their worries and concerns so they are able to plan safe travel more easily.
The campaign has been designed to give up-to-date information about the ever-changing travel corridors, and testing procedures in the hope that this will help people plan holidays more confidently.
The campaign was inspired by a survey of more than 1,000 people which showed despite just over half (53 per cent) saying they were hoping to book an overseas holiday in the next three to 12 months, confusion over quarantines and refund policies were putting them off booking.
Over half the people surveyed said they thought the Government guidance on overseas travel was unclear and a third said they were concerned about not being able to access refunds on flights or accommodation.
According to the research, consumers need reassurance about how safe they are when they are on holiday with more than four in ten people saying they were concerned about falling ill on holiday with a further 41 per cent saying they had concerns about the safety of travel by plane or ship.
Others – some 40 per cent – expressed they were worried about the Covid rates in other countries.
Lee said: “We want to make sure that we are having the right conversations with our customers so that they feel empowered to make the right decisions and feel able to travel with confidence.
“This campaign encourages them to ask us questions to find out more, whether that be online or face-to-face over a Zoom Call or by arranging a private Visit to our office based at 44 Somers Park Avenue.”
