Malvern Walking Festival returns for it's 20th anniversary this summer

MALVERN’S annual walking festival is set to return this summer as it celebrates a milestone anniversary.

The 20th annual Malvern Walking Festival is taking place from May 24 to June 1, 2025 and is now open for bookings.

Walks will take place in and around the Malvern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), with some further afield in Worcestershire and Herefordshire.

Malvern Hills has recently been hailed by Which? magazine as having the best walks in the Midlands with four stars awarded for the walks and scenery.

There are over 60 walks available over the 9 days offering plenty of choice for everyone. There are multi-day walks, all day walks, and shorter half-day walks either in the morning, afternoon or evening.

Themed walks including wartime Malvern, Malvern’s water, farming, quarrying, geology, local history, beer & pubs and gardens are also on offer.

Each walk is graded from Gentle to Strenuous, ranging from 3 miles to 31 miles to suit all walkers.

For more keen walkers there is the 19 mile Malvern Hills end to end and back, Worcester Way over one or three days and the best of the Three Choirs Way in three days.

Festival chairman Peter Reynolds said: “The festival will be our 20th anniversary and we are now one of the biggest in southern England.

“Last year we sold-out and received dozens of letters from walkers saying how much they enjoyed Malvern and the surrounds.

“But we also received too many letters from walkers saying how disappointed they were not to be able to book onto their chosen ramble as it was sold out.

“I therefore urge everybody to book early to save being disappointed.

“We’re also pleased to confirm that we will again be supporting the Worcester Air Ambulance charity, although of course we sincerely hope we will have no need of their services anytime soon “
