MALVERN residents will be on the hunt for decorative items fit for royals as this years Malvern Well Dressing Festival returns with ‘Kings and Queens’ theme.
The festival will be held from Saturday April 29 to Sunday May 7 and will see Malvern’s iconic Victorian spring water wells adorned with a wealth of royal decorations and creations.
Well dressing begins on Friday April 28 with judging kicking off on Saturday April 29.
Winners will receive prices, rosettes and certificates in Priory Park on May 1 bank holiday, where the May Day Water Festival also takes place.
The event celebrates the history of the Malvern Hills District, focusing on the iconic spring water and Victorian Water Cure.
Malvern Spa Association are bringing the festival to the town with the help of local businesses and community groups.
Maps with well locations can be downloaded from the Visit The Malverns website or picked up from Great Malvern Tourist Information Centre, on Church Street.
Entertainment will liven up the town with singing, self-guided walks, well blessings, minibus tours and more.
May Day Water Festival welcomes free and paid children’s activities including inflatable fun, face painting, circus skills workshop, Creative Clay workshops, live music and more.
Victoria Carman, visitor economy manager from Malvern Hills District Council said: “We’re getting very excited about the return of the much-loved Malvern Well Dressing and Water Festival in this year’s theme ‘Kings and Queens’.
