A LUCKY Malvern woman has spoken how she ‘couldn’t believe it’ after scooping £400 in a charity lottery.
Anne Crowder recently won the cash through St Richard’s Hospice, which provides free specialist palliative care for patients living with life-limiting illnesses across the county.
Mrs Crowder, who has Parkinson’s disease, said she will buy more hospice lottery tickets for her family, but will spend some time thinking about what to do with the rest of her prize money.
83-year-old Patricia Withey, from Worcester, is also celebrating after scooping £1,000 on the charity’s lottery, which she plans to spend on decorating her conservatory.
There are 10,000 members who play the hospice lottery, which is a joint venture between St Richard’s Hospice, Acorns Children’s Hospice and Primrose Hospice.
Mrs Crowder said: “I couldn’t believe it. I love St Richard’s, it’s like heaven with the gates shut. Every member of staff and volunteer I meet is magnificent. I couldn’t ask for support from anywhere better.”
