YOUNGSTERS from a Malvern school got the rare chance of getting an insight into the life of a top rugby player when a Worcester Warriors star made a special visit.
Sixways star Phil Dowson gave a special talk to pupils at The Downs Malvern on Wednesday.
Along with Warriors’ business development manager Max Allen, Dowson saw some of the school’s talented youngsters in action when the school’s Under 13s played and beat Hanley Castle.
After the game, Dowson – a regular in Warriors starting line up – joined the team for a photo before he hosted a Question and Answer session.
The Downs Malvern Facebook Page said: “Phil enlightened pupils and staff with the ups and downs of life as a professional rugby player and passed on wise words of advice.
“Some very interesting and well thought-through questions were asked by our pupils and at the end of the evening they each received Phil’s autograph to take home.
“A huge thank you to both Phil and Max for giving us so much of their precious time and providing us all with a fantastic afternoon.”
