Malvern's first ever Vegan Fair to take place this Saturday

Malvern Editorial 25th Feb, 2020   0

THOUSANDS of people are expected to attend Malvern’s biggest ever Vegan Fair which takes place this Saturday.

The free event which runs from 10.30am to 4pm at the town’s Edinburgh Sports Dome, Imperial Road, will feature a mouth-watering array of plant-based culinary delights.

Vegan food has never been more popular and the Christmas fair, which had just 15 stalls and was held at Christchurch Hall, was packed with visitors.

This one will have 35 stalls showcasing a range of products – from skincare, perfume and make-up to clothes, jewellery and a vast array of food.

Kevin White, founder of Midlands Vegan Campaigns (MVC), is one of the fair organisers.

He said: “Veganism is snowballing at a very fast rate in the UK.

“For many, vegan events are the best starting point if you’re vegan curious, an aspiring vegan or already enjoying the benefits of the lifestyle.

“Every town needs a Vegan Fair, including Malvern.”

He urged people to ‘tickle their tastebuds’ with the latest gourmet vegan cheeses,  creamy chocolates, scrumptious pizza, tantalising curries, heavenly cakes and everything in between.

“It’s like all the food you’ve ever enjoyed but with the unhealthy bits taken out and on many stalls you can try before you buy.”

There will also be inspiring talks throughout the day on health and nutrition, how and why to go vegan, the environmental benefits of the lifestyle, and also a cookery demonstration.

And there will be free samples, recipes and nutritional guidance on offer.

Kevin added: “The growth of veganism in recent years has been phenomenal.

“Curious non-vegans are increasingly flocking to vegan events to taste all the delights of vegan cuisine and be inspired by all the lifestyles benefits, for animals, personal health and nutrition, and the environment.

“Veganism has passed a tipping point and is unstoppable now.”
