MALVERN’S Holy Trinity Church in Link Top will hold its first ever Service of Lessons and Carols for Advent next weekend.
The performance, led by Holy Trinity’s Augmented Choir and Vicar, Rev Rebecca Elliott, takes place at 10.30am on Sunday, November 27.
The service will include inspirational readings and contrasting music for Advent Sunday as well as a strong selection of congregational hymns.
The organ will be played by the church’s assistant organist and the choir will be conducted by Charles Pavey, the organist and choirmaster.
Tea and coffee will be available after the service.
A Holy Trinity Church spokesperson said: “We used to hold two Christmas Carol services annually but this year we are replacing one with an Advent Carol Service.
“It allows for greater opportunities for music and readings which, whilst they may have the feel of Christmas, are really about preparing for Christmas.”
There will be a Traditional Service of Nine Lessons and Carols for Christmas at 10.30am on December 18.
