A MALVERN Choir is set to perform at two Passiontide services this March.

Holy Trinity Augmented Choir are singing the Crucifixion by John Stainer a Holy Trinity Church and St James’ Church.

The Choir will be conducted by the Choirmaster, Charles Pavey, and accompanied by the Assistant Organist, Billy Colbourne.

Charles said: “Stainer did much to raise standards of music-making in this country in an era when tastes in music were very different to today’s.

“Composed in the late 19th century, this musical work has stood the test of time and continues to offer a very real portrayal and reflection of biblical events appreciated by performers and listeners alike in the 21st century.”

The service at Holy Trinity Church starts at 10.30am on Sunday March 22.

The choir is set to perform at St James’ Church, on Sunday March 29 at 6.30pm.
