A MALVERN company has been providing funding, resources and premises to town charities hit hard by the Coronavirus pandemic.
Among those to be benefit from The Melton Group are Heartstart Malvern, Leonard Cheshire and The Marvellous Malvern Makers.
Charities have struggled during the lockdown because of fund-raising events being cancelled and public donations reduced.
The Melton Group has been supporting the healthcare sector with environmental cleaning as part of infection prevention and control (IPC) throughout the pandemic, as well as increasing its charity support to ensure vital community services can be provided.
Melanie Baker, Melton Group Founder and Managing Director, said: “We’ve always had a deep-rooted passion for helping local charities and the whole team has a great attitude of ‘we’re in this together’, which I’m really proud of.
Community resuscitation scheme Heartstart Malvern has been handed free storage space and fund-raising activities, such as sponsored walks, have been organised for the cause.
Hand sanitiser gel has been given free to Leonard Cheshire, which helps individuals to live, learn and work as independently as they choose, whatever their ability.
And Melton Group has helped provide premises and fabric for The Marvellous Malvern Makers, which has worked tirelessly throughout the Covid-19 pandemic to make scrubs and face masks.
All proceeds raised have gone to support the NHS and a variety of local charities.
Melanie added: “It’s so important that we all pull together at this time as a complete community, to help local businesses and aid local charities, and encourage other businesses to provide support if they can.
“For us it’s not about the recognition, it’s about making a positive impact so that we all support each other at this difficult time.”
