MALVERN-based Melton Group will work closely with leading UK disability charity with fund-raising campaigns.
It is part of the firm’s commitment as a Disability Confident Employer and to help foster the ‘see the person, not the disability’ culture.
The Melton Group is part of the Disability Confident employer Government scheme which supports organisations in changing attitudes to recruiting people with disabilities, drawing from the widest possible pool of talent.
Already employing people with disabilities, Melton is continuing with their internal development program to support the scheme as part of their long-term strategy.
The company has also recently donated £500 to a team of Leonard Cheshire fund-raisers who, led by Sarah Grout, its regional fund-raising executive, successfully completed the virtual London Marathon last month.
Working together, the Melton Group and Leonard Cheshire have formed a close-knit bond, built on a shared and caring ethos to support people with disabilities.
Melton Group’s founder and managing director Melanie Baker said: “Our mantra to ‘see the person and not the disability’ is a core value that is shared by all the team at Melton.
“We started working with Leonard Cheshire at the beginning of the first pandemic lockdown in March, with the donation of hand sanitiser when resources were scarce.
“Later in the year Sarah’s amazing commitment to the virtual London Marathon really struck a chord with me on a personal level, so sponsoring Sarah’s Leonard Cheshire fundraising team was our way of saying ‘thank you’ to such a special charity.
“We are now working closely with Leonard Cheshire on achieving our Disability Confident Levels 2 and 3 as part of our HR commitment and current expansion plans. We are also delighted to continue our fundraising with Leonard Cheshire supporting their #ISeePurple disability awareness campaign on the 3rd December”.
