Malvern's North Clock Tower to be dressed for Halloween and All Souls Day

Malvern Editorial 1st Nov, 2023   0

TO MARK Halloween and six months until Malvern’s Well Dressing Festival, residents are invited to partake in decorating the town’s North Clock Tower.

Malvern Spa Association is organising the All Souls Dressing of the Clock Tower from October 28 to November 13, in the theme of Halloween and Remembrance Day.

All Souls is another term for Hallows Eve or Haloween and marks the day before All Souls Day on November 1, which holds significance for well dressers who use the occasion to offer a thank you to loved ones who have passed.

Visitors to the well dressing are encouraged to hang a plain white ribbon on a small tree on the lawn in front.

While inside the clock tower, they are asked to write and tie a note dedicated to someone special and spend some time in peaceful contemplation.

A formal blessing will be held on Thursday 2nd November at 11am by Revd James Williams, Curate of Malvern Link with Cowleigh, to mark All Saints’ day.
