THE POPULAR Powick Community Choir has launched an appeal for new members, writes Gabija Alseikaite.
It follows the group’s successful series of six sell out Christmas Concerts at Stanbrook Abbey.
The choir is large with around 70 members but naturally loses around 15 to 20 members each year so is always looking to recruit new faces.
The group’s musical director Tom Wells said: “It maybe that you once sang in your school choir all those years ago, or perhaps you have sung in an adult choir since.
“Or, maybe you have simply found yourself singing in the car or in the shower.
“Whatever it is that draws you to want to sing, why not follow that instinct and do something about it.”

The choir is open to all, whether from the village or elsewhere and most members do now live further afield.
There are no formal auditions or voice trials but previous choir experience would be advantageous.
Anyone interested can go along for a taster session at one of their weekly rehearsals or get in touch by emailing Tom at [email protected] or by calling him on 07702 996203.
Alternatively, call choir secretary Angie Pope on 01905 830398.
