Malvern's 'Wildlife Heroes' celebrated by county trust

Malvern Editorial 20th Aug, 2018   0

THREE ‘Wildlife Heroes’ from Malvern were celebrated by the county’s largest conservation charity at an awards ceremony.

Ken Timms, of Malvern Community Forest, Mel Mason, of Malvern Butterfly Group, and Martin Roberts, who manages a wildflower meadow in Bushley Green, were presented with their awards by Colin Raven, director of Worcestershire Wildlife Trust (WWT).

The Wildlife Heroes awards were launched in April and aim to highlight and applaud individuals, groups, communities, businesses and schools which have helped wildlife during the last 50 years.

Rae Howard-Louvaine, senior engagement officer for the WWT and organiser of the Wildlife Heroes awards, said: “We appealed for nominations earlier in the year and have been delighted by the response.

“It’s great to know there are so many people are doing their bit to help wildlife right across Worcestershire.”
