Man arrested after sex assault in Malvern hotel

A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of a serious sexual assault in a Malvern hotel.

A woman in her 20s was sexually assaulted the town centre venue on Tuesday evening (May 13).

Ambulance crews took her to hospital where she was treated for minor injuries.

It was suspected the incident happened in a service road in Belle Vue however police have stated it happened in a nearby hotel.

Det Ins Rebecca Love of West Mercia Police has also confirmed the man and the woman knew each other.

Hampshire Police arrested a man in his 20s this morning who will be questioned over the weekend.

Det Ins Love said: “We understand that reports of sex attacks cause alarm and anxiety within communities, and hope people will be reassured by the speedy arrest in this case.”
