THE MET Office has issued a yellow weather warning for high winds across Worcestershire and the rest of England tomorrow (Tuesday) with the arrival of Storm Francis.
There will also be rain throughout the day, accompanying the winds with gusts of up to 50mph predicted during the afternoon.
Winds will remain strong during the evening.
The Met Office said there could be damage to buildings with tiles blown down from roofs and road and rail could be affected.
With Storm Francis seemingly on its way this evening, residents are being reminded to stay safe and report damage through to Worcestershire Highways.
People are being urged to keep themselves safe and Worcestershire County Council Highways has urged anyone who encounters any issues, such as fallen trees, to report it by via Twitter – @WorcsTravel or by calling 01905 854676 (9am to 5pm) or 01905 765765 (evening).
Jon Fraser, Worcestershire County Council Highways, said: “With winds set to pick up across Worcestershire in the next few days, it’s really important that we work with our residents to repair any damage as quickly as possible.
“As well as our teams, we will have specialist tree contractors on standby.
“We will continue to monitor the weather closely and are ready to react to any issues.
“Please remember to only call 999 if there is a risk of harm or threat to life or if there is a crime.”
