THE FIRST Walking for Health group at Croome proved to be a big hit as more than 40 people took part in its first event.
On Monday morning, the free health walk took attendees around the beautiful historical grounds of Croome park.
Set up by Malvern Hills District Council and supported by The National Trust, the group is part of the National Walking for Health scheme.
The next walk will take place on Monday, March 27 at 10.15am and will offer three different ability groups, ranging from a gentle 30 minute walk, to a brisk 90 minute stroll.
Trained walk leaders, Rachel Vann and Pat Griffin, aim to help participants feel more confident about taking those first steps to a more active lifestyle, as well as improve well-being.
Rachel, walk leader from Malvern Hills District Council, said: “We had an amazing response to our first health walk, and we ended up walking for just over an hour clocking up 2.75 miles.
“The group offers low impact exercise, which is ideal if you have problems with your health, or have had problems in the past.
“Even if you’re not feeling your best, walking could help you feel great again.
“It’s also a good opportunity to make new friends.
“If you would like to attend our next one we would be delighted to hear from you – the more the merrier.”
