WEST WORCESTERSHIRE MP Dame Harriett Baldwin has welcomed the work of a charity supporting veterans in a range of different ways.
The MP visited the team and some service users at Link Nurseries, where the Stepway charity is establishing extensive ways of supporting our local veterans.
The charity offers support both for veterans and their families and helps them back into the workplace as well as offering a safe place for people to meet and chat.
Stepway was founded in 2019 by Dawn Turner, from Eckington who has tirelessly campaigned for better support for people who have left the military and recently met with the MP and Veterans Minister Louise Sandher Jones MP.
Dame Harriett said: “I was pleased to be able to facilitate a meeting with Dawn and the Veterans Minister last month, and I was very pleased to visit Link Nurseries to hear about the work Stepway is doing to help veterans.
“Our veterans are willing to lay down their lives to protect our country and its interests, so we as a society must do everything we can to support them.
“Dawn is clearly passionate about the need to offer support for people who have left the armed forces and she’s a highly motivated advocate for this important cause.
“It good to see Stepway working hand in hand with the popular Well Bean Club which has operated out of Link Nurseries for many years, and I was interested to hear about the efforts to use the space also to house local entrepreneurs who need a helping hand.”
