MALVERN’S MP Harriett Baldwin has offered her sympathies to the family and friends of people murdered in the attack in Westminster.

The West Worcestershire MP was at Kuala Lumpur airport on Ministry of Defence business at the time of the attack, but was able to speak to her staff, whose offices are just yards from where the policeman fell, who were safely held in lock-down until the middle of the evening while security checks were carried out.

“My first thoughts are with all the people who have been directly affected by this terrible attack,” said Mrs Baldwin.

“This was a horrific event and we’re particularly grateful to those working in the emergency services.

“I’ve signed the book of condolences and pay particular tribute to PC Keith Palmer, who paid with his life to keep Parliament safe.

“This attack was aimed directly at our democracy and we’re all resolute that this will not impact on our day-to-day duties,” she added.
