WEST WORCESTERSHIRE MP Harriett Baldwin joined staff at Malvern Vale’s Sainsbury’s who will mark the store’s 150th anniversary by donating time to raising money for local good causes.
Staff will be raising money for the local Acorns Children’s Hospice by collecting at major sporting events in Worcester during the summer including the rugby, cricket and basketball.
Sainsbury’s staff up and down the country will be donating 150 days of volunteering time between now and October to celebrate 150 years since the first store was opened in Drury Lane in London.
“Malvern Vale is a thriving, vibrant community and I was pleased to be consulted on the initial plans to bring a Sainsbury’s to the town as part of the wider development plans,” Mrs Baldwin said.
“I am delighted to see Sainsbury’s playing a central role in its community and the staff working together with local people to help worth good causes.”
