A MALVERN ‘mum-preneur’ has stressed ‘you don’t have to be cut throat’ to be a success after receiving a prestigious national accolade for starting up her own business.
Paula Trafford was presented with the New Business Builder prize at the Neal’s Yard Organic Remedies Gala Awards earlier this month.
The 47-year-old mother of three from Malvern Link integrates three businesses, operating as a client for the British firm and using their organic products in her complementary therapy and Pilates therapy services which she runs through Malvern and Upton.
On winning the award, Mrs Trafford said: “It was a total shock when my name was called out. It was absolutely delightful.
“I have worked very, very hard. But it is great to be a part of something like Neal’s Yard which is completely ethical and uses British products.
“It just shows you can be a success without being cut throat and that is the way forward in business. That is the real success.
“There are so many greedy people out there but it doesn’t have to be like that. Everybody wants to be successful and to make money.
“If we all have ethics and support local produce then we’re going to be putting the whole country into a better place.”
