New 'District Discount 500' book being created by Malvern Hills District Council to promote local businesses

A NEW ‘District Discount 500’ book is being created by Malvern Hills District Council to promote the area’s businesses and help them attract new customers and sales.

It is part of the authority’s commitment to supporting local businesses and communities as part of new Town Centre Plans.

For £5, businesses can advertise a voucher or discount of their choice, including a logo and/or photo.

The adverts will feature in 5,000 booklets, all containing 500 vouchers and discounts, which will be available to customers for six months.

The booklets will then go on sale to customers online and in stores from November for £1.

There is also an option for businesses to sell the books and retain some of the costs.

Coun Daniel Walton, Portfolio Holder for Tourism and Economic Development at Malvern Hills District Council, said: “This is a great opportunity for local businesses to advertise any discounts at a low cost.

“With the uncertainty of the cost-of-living and Christmas just around the corner, local discounts and offers will enable customers to get excellent value for money along with the chance to support local businesses.”

Annette Keyworth, owner of Upton News said “It’s very rewarding working on a project that so positively impacts our community on multiple levels.

“It really is a win on a circular level including the people of the district, local businesses and Malvern Hills District Council.

“We have been blown away by the response and hope to make it a regular promotion going forward.”

Interested businesses should email Annette at [email protected] or call her on 07538 785314 for more information.
