TWO NEW drivers have been issued Section 59 notices by police after driving their cars anti-socially in Malvern district.
Malvern Police Safer Neighbourhood Team took action after the motorists were caught ‘doing doughnuts’ on common land.
‘Doughnuts’ are when drivers spin their car around over and over to create a ring pattern on the ground.
The Section 59 orders mean if those drivers are caught again using their vehicles anti-socially, they could be seized by police.
The SNT said: “It’s an offence to drive on common land unless authorised, especially on Sites of Specific Scientific Interest (SSSIs).
“Commons are there to be enjoyed responsibly and for the livelihoods of graziers.”
Malvern Hills Trust said: “We’re pleased to see action being taken against drivers who have caused damage to sensitive common land and disturbance to local communities.”
