THE ANNUAL Royal Three Counties Show has revealed its new features for this year’s event which is expected to attract more than 90,000 visitors.

A landmark event in the agricultural calendar, the three-day show, which starts next Friday, will celebrate the rich heritage of British farming alongside fine food and family entertainment at the Three Counties Showground.

One of the new features for this year’s spectacular event is the Wellington Boot Theatre where visitors can learn about the great outdoors.

Hosted by BBC Hereford and Worcester presenter Andrew Easton, the theatre aims to inspire show goers to try their hand at outdoor activities and offers the chance for a Q&A with Andrew and his guests including BBC Countryfile presenter Adam Henson.

The brand new Country Pursuits Village will offer an action-packed programme which includes an opportunity to ‘Meet the Countryside’ and demystify any puzzling country myths.

Visitors to the village can also expect to see daring acrobats, falconry as well as watching impressive animal and country sport demonstrations.

An ‘Ask the Farmer’ theatre in conjunction with the Rare Breeds Survival Trusts will provide the opportunity for guests to ask farming-related questions while there are several activities to keep the family entertained.

The Medieval Active Camp hosted by the Woodvilles Battle Re-enactment Group will offer children the chance to dress up as a soldier and participate in authentic historical games and walk through Gloucestershire’s famous battles.

Another family-friendly activity is the Gloucestershire Hotspot Trail.

There are 15 hotspots to find across the showground, each celebrating the greatness of Gloucestershire.

Visitors are invited to solve the anagram and claim a prize from sponsors Western Power Distribution.

Diana Walton, head of shows at the Three Counties said: “This year’s show has some wonderful new additions including new interactive areas and activities and once again we are welcoming the very best of livestock and equine competitors from all parts of Britain.
