LONGER opening hours and more services are on offer for Malvern Link residents at the area’s new-look Post Office.

The official opening ceremony for the overhauled store on Saturday (October 19) saw MP Harriett Baldwin cutting the ribbon with subpostmistress Anne Deegan (pictured. The Worcester Road store will also see its opening hours extended by more than 20 hours a week. The branch itself will open from Monday to Saturday 9am to 5.30pm while the service point at the retail counter will be available from 7am to 5.30pm six days a week and 8am to 1pm on Sundays.

Mrs Baldwin said: “I am very impressed with the new-look store and I am sure it will go down well with local shoppers.

“This is yet another impressive investment in Malvern Link and local people must be very proud of their local Post Office.”

She added now the Royal Mail was in the private sector she wanted to emphasise the Government’s commitment to the network, which remained in public ownership.

Anne Deegan added: “I was delighted to have the opportunity to modernise the branch and I am very pleased to be officially launching it for the community.

“I hope our customers like the new branch and I’d like to thank Harriett for coming. I’d also like to thank the local community for their continued support and use of the branch.”
