A MALVERN councillor has taken the helm of one of the area’s Royal British Legion clubs.
Coun Mike Soley has become chair of the Hanley and District branch of the organisation, based in Park Lane.
He said: “We run the annual Poppy Appeal and gain money to give to ex-servicemen and women who have been in the armed services and fought for our benefit. We are always looking for new members and would welcome you to join us. You do not need to be an ex-serviceman or women to join us.”
Events include a dance with live singers every other Friday night, skittles and darts teams.
