New WalkFit sessions aimed at getting Malvern residents off the couch and out for a stroll

THE LATEST WalkFit programme in Malvern gets under way with the first session between 2pm and 3pm on Wednesday, September 16, at Callow End Village Hall.

It is aimed to get people off the couch and gradually working up to walking briskly for 30 minutes, three-times-a-week, over the eight-week programme.

Sessions are suitable for any age and is designed for real beginners, placing the emphasis on helping build confidence, stamina, fitness and mood, along with a healthier lifestyle.

The eight-week programme is £20 and is social and informal so everyone feels comfortable and supported as they progress through the weeks.




Coun Tom Wells, Malvern Hills District Council’s Portfolio Holder for Community Services, said: “This will be a face-to-face course and our Physical Activity and Wellbeing Officer will be on hand to provide support for participants throughout the eight weeks.

“This course is a great opportunity for beginners to start their fitness journey in a positive and encouraging setting”.


Social distancing will be in place at all times.
