FORMER Olympic swimmers Mark Foster and Katy Sexton inspired dozens of young swimmers when they made a special visit to Malvern.
Sharing their winning techniques with more than 50 youngsters aged between 9 and 18, the Mark Foster Swimming Academy attracted a lot of talent when it came to town’s Malvern Active sports complex.
Swimmers were put through their paces both in and out of the water by six- times world champion Foster and Sexton – the first British woman to win a World Championship title.
Mum Ellen Heeley, who took her daughter Eva to the unique session, said: “It was a fantastic day. Eva gained some brilliant feedback that will really help her competitive swimming.”
Speaking after the event, Sexton said: “It’s always brilliant to be involved with sport at grassroots level. Giving something back and encouraging further development by passing our knowledge and experience to the next future champions.
“It was fantastic to see so much young talent in one day and we hope to be back here at Malvern Active next year.”
